Trust-Based Parenting with guest teacher Mako Nagasawa, Saturday October 17
Trinity’s friend Mako Nagasawa will be with us, teaching about trust-based parenting, with lessons he has learned from his study of early Christian theologians and from his work looking at the emotional side of our life in Jesus.
Annual Meeting, Saturday October 24
We’ve had a few calendar challenges so our Annual Meeting is a touch late, but it’s all set now! Following the service on the 24th…All parishioners are invited for our annual Trinity update, as well as voting on new members of the Parish Council and other church business.

As always, what a joy to be together by the sea with our families and friends for this special service. It was also wonderful to hear from missionary partner Jane Mwikali Mwangangi, the Kenya Country Director for the Kijabe Children’s Educational Fund.

Edelweiss Monthly Book Club
A note from Jane Vanko and Fr Tim: The Edelweiss Fall Book Club continues November 5 at 10 a.m., in the Parlor at Anchor Bay Church in downtown Beverly. I highly recommend reading What Grows in Weary Lands: On Christian Resilience,” by Tish Harrison Warren. https://tishharrisonwarren.com/ I believe it will truly bless you.
The chapters are short and subdivided, and we will only discuss the first two in October.
A few questions we might consider in our discussion:
- Which do you tend to do when faced with a hard season: flame out, numb out, or go deep?
- What is your reaction to the invitation to 'stay in your cell'?
- What might God want to say to you about this? And what might you want to say to God?
- How might you surrender to God's work in the midst of your desert?
At the conclusion of our discussion, there will be a traditional Eucharist, celebrated by Father Tim.
- The whole church is invited to read What Grows in Weary Lands, by Tish Harrison Warren
- We’ll meet 3 times this fall, first Thursday of the month starting in October (Oct 1, Nov 5 and Dec 3)
- Meet at Anchor Bay, 10 am. Discussion led by a member of Trinity and will be followed by a brief Eucharist
- Even if you can’t attend in person, you’re invited to read along on your own, or gather with others as you can for discussion

2nd and 4th Mondays at Anchor Point
Because it has been so meaningful to both residents and parishioners, we are extending our 2nd and 4th Monday garden club gatherings at Anchor Point through the end of October.
Whether or not you’re a gardener, join us at the garden space at Anchor Point 5pm-6pm on the 2nd & 4th Monday.
Anchor Point is the community at the corner of Sohier and Tozer roads in Beverly.

Our personal rules of life are going to be deeply important in this coming year, given the way things are shaping up, in helping us keep the plot.
I’d love to check in with you (not check up on you) about anything important to you, really, but especially regarding a Rule of Life. Even if that means you aren’t inclined to make one, but are willing to explore it.
